CPI(M) on Wednesday urged the government to release relief for Sri-Lankan Tamils suffering post war crisis in the island nation.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament, senior party leader Sitaram Yechury said that government must release a substantive aid for the victims at the earliest.

Party delegation also met the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in this regard.

Mr. Yechury also said that New Delhi should raise the demand for an international investigation of the war crimes at an appropriate forum.

He added that a political solution to the problem must be sorted before the situation
