CPI(M) today urged the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir government to call an all-party meeting to discuss efforts to end the strife in the Kashmir valley. The valley is witnessing protest over the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani. In a statement, the party said the Union Home Minister must convene an all party meeting immediately at the Central level.<br/><br/> Terming the incidents in Kashmir as condemnable, the party said the administration should desist from using excessive force against the protesters.The party said, the activities of extremist groups should be checked to maintain law and order, but it cannot be made an excuse for the use of force against stone-throwing protesters.
