CPI(M) tells Prez about its opposition on anti-graft Bills’ ordinance

The CPI(M) has opposed the ordinance route for anti-graft bills. In a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee, party General Secretary Prakash Karat said promulgating ordinances on the eve of election announcement will tantamount to a blatantly anti- democratic move to which the CPIM will register a strong opposition.

Charging the government with doing nothing during the last five years on bills to combat corruption, Karat said that the government could have easily extended Parliament session for the purpose.
