The CPI(M) Politburo met at the Mujhafar Ahmed Bhavan in Alimuddin Street in Kolkata today. All 15 Politburo members including the party’s General Secretary Mr. Prakash Karat and Politburo members Mr. Sitaram Yachury and Nirupam Sen were present at the meeting. <br/><br/>The meeting generally discussed what the party sources called ‘purification process’, within the rank and file of the party, in the wave of the party’s poor performance in successive elections , including the Lok Sabha poll last year . <br/> <br/>Taking to newspersons, after the meeting, Politburo member Mr. Nirupom Sen toll newspersons that report on today’s meeting will be compiled and handed over to the Central Committee, which will meet for a three days session in Kolkata tomorrow.
