CPI(M) has opposed the Union Cabinet's decision to allow 100 per cent FDI in single brand retail trade. In a statement, party polit bureau said, the step will harm domestic retail traders and shopkeepers. <br/><br/>It said, the measure also indicates that the NDA government is moving towards allowing FDI in multi-brand retail trade. <br/><br/>The party said the BJP, while in opposition, was opposed to the entry of foreign companies into retail trade and now it has reversed its position.<br/> '<br/>The CPI(M) has also opposed the foreign players to own 49 percent stake in Air India.<br/><br/>
