CPI(M) finalises strategy to bring secular parties against nuclear liability bill

The CPI(M) has finalised its strategy to bring the secular parties together against nuclear liability bill which is proposed to be brought in the Parliament. The Polit Bureau which met in New Delhi on Thursday discussed the political situation and its tactics in<br/><br/>Parliament to take on the government on issues like price rise, the nuclear civil liability bill and the women's quota.<br/><br/>Party sources said that the Politburo meeting, scheduled for two days, was cut short by a day as some top leaders, including Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, had to leave due to certain pressing engagements. Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee did not attend the conference due to the ongoing state assembly session.<br/><br/>Politburo member Sitaram Yechury said discussions were held on the prevailing political situation in the country. Among those present at the meeting were General Secretary Prakash Karat, M K Pandhe, Brinda Karat, Pinarayi Vijayan, Biman Bose and Nirupam Sen.<br/><br/>The meeting also decided on holding of a meeting of the extended Central Committee in August.<br/>
