The CPIM, which is opposed to the government's decision to allow Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail sector, today called for a proper discussion in Parliament. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Senior Party leader Sitaram Yechury said that his party had submitted notices in both the Houses of Parliament seeking a discussion on the issue under rules entailing voting. He said any such decision on allowing FDI in retail sector should be endorsed by Parliament. He said the government should not go behind the cover saying that this is an executive decsion.
