The CPI(M) today asked the government to assert its right to question the LeT operative David Headly in connection with Mumbai attacks . <br/><br/>Speaking on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi, CPM general secretary, Prakash Karat said the government should have independent direct access to David Headley. The CPI(M) leader's comments came in the backdrop of US Ambassador Timothy J Roemer saying that the US has taken no decision to provide Indian investigators direct access to Pakistani-American David Headley, who has confessed to plotting the Mumbai terror attacks.
