CPI has pitched for unemployment allowance, a complete review of neo-liberal economic policies and opposition to FDI in retail trade and public-private partnership model in its manifesto for Lok Sabha lections. Party General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy, veteran leader A B Bardhan and other senior leaders released the manifesto in New Delhi today.
The party seeks stoppage of privatisation of profit-making PSUs, a law for auditing big private companies and making the Comptroller and Auditor General a constitutional authority. Besides it also opposes handing over of natural resources like gas, petrol, coal and minerals to the private sector and promised to redefine the path of development in a way that leads to economic development with equitable distribution and social justice. Food security, education, employment and healthcare for all are also included in the menifesto.
It urged the the people to oust Congress and prevent communal forces from coming to power to pave the way for an alternative political platform, saying that BJP leader Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan are two sides of the same coin.
CPI leaders called for a strong Left block in Parliament to raise issues afflicting as both Congress and BJP are favouring corporate capital and imperialism. Party General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy said, the post-poll scenario will be of great political churning that will lead to realignment of political forces.
