CPI-M to launch agitation against price rise

CPI-M along with eight other political parties have decided to jointly launch a week-long countrywide agitation against price rise. In a press release issued in New Delhi on Thursday evening, they said that agitation will begin from 3rd of February. They alleged that the government has not taken any effective measure to curb price rise.The parties have demanded that forward trading in food items and essential commodities should be banned and firm measures should be taken against hoarding. They also demanded roll back of petroleum price hike.During the week long agitation the parties will hold protest demonstrations, dharna and rallies throughout the country. The other parties including TDP, JD-S, CPI, BJD and AIADMK among others have alleged that the UPA government has remained insensitive towards the plight of the people following price rise of essential commodities
