In Kerala, LDF opposition walked out of the state assembly protesting against the ongoing load shedding and power crisis in the state. Seeking permission for an adjournment motion on the issue, former electricity minister A K Balan alleged that despite increase in power production the government has imposed load shedding during night and also surcharge on consumers. Electricity Minister Aaryadan Mohammed informed the house that present load shedding will be withdrawn within a few days and discussion to purchase more power from different sources including NTPC, Kayamkulam is in progress. The Minister said that compared to other states Kerala is getting more power from the central pool. However, CPI-M led opposition was not satisfied with the reply and walked out of the assembly in protest.
