The CPI(M) today favoured the credible and independent investigation against the alleged killings of civilians and human rights violations in Sri Lanka. In a statement by the Polit Bureau all those responsible in the matter should be held accountable and brought to book. The party said that the government should take a stand in the UN Human Rights Council that the Sri Lankan government should take up the implementation of the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission, LLRC.
