CPI (M) asks Govt. not to succumb to US pressure on strategic alliance proposals

CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat today asked UPA government not to succumb to pressure to accept President Barack Obama's economic and strategic alliance proposals. He said the Left parties don't have any opposition to Mr Obama's visit. He was addressing a demonstration by Left parties in New Delhi to protest various economic and strategic proposals made by US president to India during his maiden visit. Mr Karat said that Left parties are today staging demonstration all over the country against the US proposals to India as it wanted the US president to listen not only the government but also the voice of the people of the country.
