The CPI-M today asked the Centre to send a central team to West Bengal to assess the situation in 11 drought hit districts.Talking to media in New Delhi partly leader Sitaram Yechury said that these districts are facing drought situation owing to deficient rainfalls. The Chief Minister of West Bengal has already written a letter to the Prime Minister. He said the state government is not asking any assistance from the centre but release of 1400 crores rupees which is due to state on account of NREGA scheme.
