<span style="color: #222222;">The government today said Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has decided to review the existing guidelines to make them more effective in addressing the environmental issues associated with idol immersion. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Prakash Javadekar informed the House that CPCB has issued guidelines for Idol immersion in 2010 which prohibits use of toxic paints  and non-biodegradable chemical dyes. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said, the guidelines encourage use of traditional clay for idol making. The minister said one of the salient feature of the guidelines also provide public should be educated on ill effects of immersion in the holy water bodies through mass awareness programme.</span><br />
