COVID19 sample testing doubled in Delhi following decisions taken by HM

<span style="color: #222222;">Sample testing has been doubled in Delhi after Home Minister Amit Shah directed the authorities after a series of meetings. From 15th to 17th June, over twenty seven thousand samples have been collected against earlier daily collection which varied between four thousand to four thousand 500.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports, house to house health survey in 242 containment zones of Delhi have been completed yesterday. A total of 2.3 lakh people were surveyed.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">On the directions of Home Minister and to get quick delivery of results in Delhi, testing through Rapid Antigen testing methodology was started yesterday. Over seven thousand people have been tested in 193 testing centres. Testing will continue with increased numbers in coming days.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Mr. Shah also constituted a committee under Member of NITI Aayog to fix rates charged by private hospitals in Delhi for isolation beds, ICUs without ventilator support and ICUs with ventilator support to provide relief to the common man.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Committee has recommended eight thousand to ten thousand, 13 thousand to 15 thousand and 15 thousand to 18 thousand including PPE costs for isolation bed, ICUs without and with ventilator respectively to all hospitals as compared to the current charges of 24 thousand to 25 thousand, 34 thousand to 43 thousand and 44 thousand to 54 thousand (excluding PPE cost).</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">After the Home Ministry's directions, efforts have been geared up in Delhi to contain the rising cases of COVID-19. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said that more testing will be done in the coming days. At present, there are ten thousand 919 beds in the national capital and out of these five thousand 471 beds are vacant.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">To provide more beds to COVID patients, Delhi Administration is converting the banquet halls and hotel as the COVID Management Centres. In addition, Railways has deployed 503 COVID Care Coaches to enhance the bed capacities in Delhi. </span><br />''
