COVID19: J&K govt to vaccinate its residents free of cost

<span style="color: #222222;">The Jammu and Kashmir Government in a significant decision has decided to vaccinate the Union Territory's residents of the age group 18 to 45 years covering about 65 lakh people, free from any charges. The cost of the vaccine will be fully borne by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The administration has imposed Corona Curfew across the Union Territory from 8 pm tonight till April 26th morning in the wake of recent surge in the COVID cases. All markets and commercial institutions will remain closed.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, 2030 new infection cases and 15 related deaths were reported in the Union Territory today. Out of the these, 1196 cases were reported from Kashmir Division while 834 cases were reported from Jammu Division.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Keeping in view of the surge in the covid cases, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam has impressed upon the concerned officers to strictly implement the strategy of testing, vaccination and promotion of maintaining appropriate behaviour among the general masses.<br />''<br />'' Mr Subrahmanyam has asked the respective district administrations to ramp up testing in the identified clusters and prioritize the vaccination to the eligible population. Meanwhile, the administration has approved the establishment of 36 Oxygen Generation Plants across the Union Territory to make Jammu and Kashmir self-sufficient in catering to the rising demand of oxygen. </span><br />
