<span style="color: #222222;">In Manipur, a 100 bedded COVID Care Centre opened at UNACCO School in Imphal West started functioning and 48 COVID-19 patients are being treated in the Centre.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The new COVID Care Centre has been set up by the State government at a private school to accommodate COVID-19 patients of the State.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh visited the new COVID Care Centre today and interacted with the Health officials regarding further requirements of the Centre.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that the State government is considering to increase the number of beds from 100 to 300. Necessary manpower has been deputed at the Centre for proper care and treatment of patients. Around 48 COVID patients are being treated in the new Centre, he said.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp; </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Shri Biren said, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital at Imphal would not admit new COVID-19 patients now. The hospital would be kept as a general hospital while COVID-19 cases would be treated only in JNIMS hospital, COVID Centre and some district hospitals.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp; </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Expressing that lack of discipline among inmates and violation of safety guidelines are the main reasons for the rise of COVID-19 cases in the State, the Chief Minister said that mischievous inmates would be put behind bars. Eight inmates had already been jailed so far.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp; </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Chief Minister also said that it was encouraging that local MLAs, CSOs and many student bodies have been actively involved in imparting awareness to the inmates of Quarantine Centres to understand the gravity of the situation and realize the importance of maintaining safety guidelines.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
