COVID-19 recovery rate reaches 64.52 %

India has registered the lowest COVID-19 mortality rate at the global level. Today, the mortality rate has further declined to 2.15 per cent in the country. It is the lowest figure since the first lockdown was imposed due to Corona virus pandemic.<br />'' <br />''The Health and Family Welfare Ministry said, a total of 10 lakh 94 thousand 374 people have recovered in the country so far and 36 thousand 569 recoveries were reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the recovery rate reached to 64.52 per cent. The Health Ministry said, highest number of 57 thousand 118 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in single day taking the total number of cases to 16 lakh 95 thousand 988. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is five lakh 65 thousand 103. In a single day, 764 deaths were reported taking the nationwide toll to 36 thousand 511.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research said that a total of five lakh 25 thousand 689 tests of Corona virus samples were conducted by the various laboratories within 24 hours. So far, one crore 93 lakh 58 thousand 659 tests have been conducted in the country. At present, one thousand 339 laboratories across India are conducting the tests for COVID-19 including 911 government laboratories and 428 private laboratories' chains.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that Central Government in collaboration with the States and Union Territories is continuously ramping up the health infrastructure in the country to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. There are </span><span style="color: black;">1,488 dedicated COVID Hospitals, 3,231 dedicated COVID Health Centres and 10 thousand 755 COVID Care Centres in the country. These hospitals and centres have the capacity of around 17 lakh isolation, ICU and oxygen supported beds and more than 23 thousands ventilators. In terms of COVID-19 testing, India is soon going to touch the figure of two crore testing. <br />''<br />''Now, more than 13 hundred government and private laboratories chains are conducting test for Corona virus samples across the country. In the last few months, India has become self-reliant in the production of PPE kits and N-95 masks. The Centre has provided more than 273 lakh N-95 masks and 121 lakh PPEs to the States and Union Territories. </span>
