Covid-19 positive Telangana youth makes ‘isolation shelter’ for himself on tree top

In Telangana, an 18-year-old youth, Ramavath Shiva, found a different isolation shelter after testing positive for Corona virus at a remote tiny village in Nalgonda district.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”He himself built an isolation place on top of a tree called Ponagamia Pinnata, known for its medicinal values nearby his house, to keep his family members at a safe distance.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”Shiva almost spent his entire isolation period on this make shift isolation arrangement and now about to get down from the tree after recovery.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”AIR correspondent reports, Ramavath Shiva went to Hyderabad to pursue his graduation from a remote village, Kothanandikonda of Nalgonda district in Telangana.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”It is about 200 kilometres from the state capital and he had to go back to his village following closure of hostels due to COVID-19 pandemic.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”He resides at his small house along with parents and two other siblings.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”Somehow, he developed COVID symptoms and approached the nearest ANM with the help of his friend and tested positive during the first week of this month.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”Then he faced the actual problem, isolation. His village is a remote one and nearest Isolation Centre is far away and his house is too small to observe isolation.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”Then Shiva found a best possible solution from the emerging conditions and available resources and decided to set up his make shift isolation place on top of the tree close by his house.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”With the help of his brother, he set up a scaffold for spending his isolation period on top of the Kanuga Tree, as locals call Ponagamia.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”A pulley system was set up with a rope and a bucket for family members to send food, water and other essentials for him.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”<span style="color: #222222;">When contacted, he said, rain could not shatter his strong determination as his main intention was to protect his family members from the infection. Now, he hopes for a COVID free India soon.</span><br />
