COVID-19 outbreak: First phase of Census, NPR postponed amid lockdown

The first phase of Census India 2021 which is the house listing operation and National Population Register (NPR) updation has been postponed until further orders. <br />'' <br />'' The Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner said the decision has been taken in view of COVID-19 outbreak and nationwide lockdown due to the pandemic. <br />'' <br />'' The exercise was scheduled to be kicked off on various dates decided by States and Union Territories on 1st April. <br />''
