Biren Singh visited Old Age Homes located in Imphal today and assessed the safety measures taken up in these homes against COVID-19 pandemic.<br />'' <br />'' Chief Minister also expressed that State government consider relaxations of lockdown for some selected sectors of the State after 20th April after assessing the present situation of COVID-19.<br />'' <br />'' A team of MLA and higher civil officers of Manipur led by Chief Minister visited Old Age Homes located in Imphal East and Imphal West. He also interacted with the inmates of the homes and presented ration items, hand sanitizers, face masks, medicines etc. He instructed officers concerned to take maximum safety measures for inmates considering vulnerability of Novel Corona Virus to elderly people.<br />'' <br />'' Speaking to media persons during the visit, Chief Minister said that the State government consider relaxations of lockdown for some selected sectors of the State after 20th April after assessing the present situation of COVID-19. However, no decision would be taken in a hurry because Manipur shares a long international boundary with Myanmar and even a slight laxity may lead to an unmanageable situation.<br />'' <br />''<br />''Chief Minister also appealed public and civil society organisations to continue support the fight against COVID-19 with the government and request to contact State police or call the toll free number of Common Control Room if anybody comes across sale of essential items at the price higher than the price fixed by the State government.</span><br />
