<span style="color: #222222;">Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi has said that COVID-19 infection is normal infection in maximum cases. He said, in 85 to 90 percent cases the infection is in the form of fever, sneeze, sore throat, body ache and cough and the maximum number of infected people will recover without any specific treatment in the form of Remdesivir, oxygen and other medicines. He said, only 10 to 15 percent will have severe infection and they need Remdesivir and other medicines. He reiterated that Remdesivir is not a magic bullet and it is given to only those patients who are hospitalised, have moderate to severe disease and whose oxygen saturation is below 93.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">Dr Naresh Trehan, Chairman Medanta urged people to consult doctors as soon as their RT-PCR report come positive. He said, all doctors know protocol and will begin treatment accordingly. He added that 90 percent of patients can recover at home if given correct medicines on time.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">Director General Health Services, Dr Sunil Kumar said the government is taking every step to check the spread of COVID and provide relief to the people. He said, people must have faith that government is taking concrete and scientific steps with suggestions from doctors, microbiologists, epidemiologists. He also urged people not to pay heed to false information and rumours around vaccines. Mr Kumar added that there is no serious side-effect attached to them. He said, vaccine and COVID appropriate behavior are two things that will help to break the chain.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">Head of Medicine, AIIMS, Dr Naveet Wig said, the country can bring down the positivity rate to less than five percent in the next three weeks if people take responsibility and abide by COVID appropriate behaviour. He urged district officials to monitor district's positivity rate and aim to keep it below one to five percent.</span><br />” <br />
