In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Eid-ul-Azha or Bakrid festival witnessed low-key celebrations in the Kashmir Valley today as prayers were not held at the major mosques and shrines of Kashmir due to COVID-19 related restrictions, aimed at preventing the spread of the Cornavirus infection.<br />'' <br />'' However, majority of the faithful marked the festival of sacrifice by offering prayers in small groups with due adherence to social distancing norms and other protocols. AIR Correspondent reports, Eid-ul-Azha, the festival of sacrifice, was celebrated in the entire Kashmir valley today with religious fervour and gaiety. It was a low key affair as people offered prayers either at their homes or at the mosques in their localities because the Divisional Administration had imposed ban on the congregational gatherings in the wake of the prevailing Cornavirus  pandemic.<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, his Advisors, Chief Secretary and leaders of the mainstream organisations have greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. They have urged the people to wear masks and maintain social distancing norms to avoid spread of COVID-19 pandemic.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Sinha prayed that the festival deepens the bond of communal harmony and amity among all sects and brings progress & prosperity in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with good health for all.<br />
