COVID-19: Chhattisgarh holds e-Lok Adalat via video conferencing

In Chhattisgarh, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, an e-Lok Adalat is being held today. Under the e-lok adalat, the virtual hearings of the pending cases are being conducted through video conferencing.<br />'' <br />''The executive chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra said that over 3 thousand cases will be heard in more than 200 benches of various districts across the state including the high court in Bilaspur. There will be live streaming of an e-Lok Adalat.<br />'' <br />''In the wake of the financial crisis faced by the people and the lawyers owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the high court and Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority decided to organise e-Lok Adalat for resolving the pending cases.<br />'' <br />''All district courts and tehsil courts along with the high court will be part of the e-Lok Adalat.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">If parties and lawyers have difficulty in connecting through video conferencing, they can also present their case via WhatsApp video calls.</span><br />
