A Delhi court will today hear the arguments on the bail plea of former Delhi University lecturer SAR Geelani who has been arrested under sedition charges. The matter was deferred for today as the judge concerned was on leave yesterday.<br/>A magisterial court had, last month, dismissed Geelani's bail application after the police said he had generated hatred against the government.<br/><br/>Delhi Police had lodged a case against Geelani and other unnamed persons after a group had allegedly shouted slogans hailing Afzal Guru at the Press Club in Delhi. The police had claimed to have registered the FIR after taking suo motu cognisance of media clips of the incident.
