Court sends IAS officer B L Agrawal to 5 days police custody

A special court in New Delhi today sent Principal Secretary in Chhattisgarh Government B L Agrawal and two others to police custody for five days in connection with an alleged bribery case. <br/><br/>Besides Agrawal, special CBI judge Virender Kumar Goyal also sent alleged middleman Bhagwan Singh and officer's relative Anand Agarwal into CBI's custody, saying their custodial interrogation was required to unearth the larger conspiracy.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh government has suspended B L Agrawal with immediate effect after his arrest by CBI. <br/><br/>Earlier, CBI registered a case against B L Agrawal on the allegations related to payment of about 1.5 crore rupees by the officer to private persons as gratification for help in a case against him being investigated by CBI.
