Court sends Abu Jundal into police custody till July 31

Abu Jundal, the alleged 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks key accused, was produced in a Mumbai court on Saturday morning. The court remanded him in police custody till July 31.

Jundal was brought to Mumbai late last night after a Delhi court handed over his custody to the Mumbai Police's Anti Terrorism Squad. The court has directed the Mumbai ATS to produce Jundal back in Delhi once the investigation is over.

The suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative is wanted by the Mumbai Police in various terror cases including the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case, 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case and German bakery blast case in Pune.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police on Saturday formed a special team, comprising officers who were part of the 26/11 probe, that started interrogation of the LeT operative Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal at the highly-guarded cell at the police headquarters here.
