In Kerala, Judicial First Class Magistrate's Court at Ambalapuzha today remanded the captain of MV Prabhu Daya, Gordon Charles Pereria, to 14 days judicial custody. The merchant vessel, MV Prabhu Daya, is suspected to be involved in a collision with a fishing boat off the coast of Alappuzha early this month. The captain was taken into custody by the Kerala Police yesterday from the vessel anchored near Chennai. Five fishermen were killed in the hit and run case involving the Singapore flagged vessel.
