Court rejects Madani’s bail plea

A fast track court in Bangalore has rejected the bail application of PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani citing security interests of the state and the country. In its order yesterday, the court said the material produced by prosecution so far revealed that there is a prima facie case against Madani, who is an accused in the 2008 Bangalore serial blast case. The Court said, the bail cannot be granted to Madani as investigation is under progress and allegations against him came under the purview of the Unlawful Activities Act. The judicial custody of Madani, who was arrested at Kollam in Kerala on the 17th of last month, ends today.
