In Kerala, the Kollam Sessions Court today rejected the bail plea of two Italian marines facing murder charges. They are accused of killing two Indian fishermen in February last. The bail of Latore Massimiliano and Salvatore Girone, was denied citing that the accused might influence the witnesses. The chargesheet against the accused marines was filed in the Kollam court yesterday.

The verdict comes at a time when hectic diplomatic parleys are on between the two countries. A day after the Italian Ambassador to India was recalled for consultations, Italian Foreign Ministry today summoned Indian Ambassador in Rome Dabarata Saha in connection with detention of two of its marines charged with murder of two fishermen in Kerala.
