Court orders meeting of experts on Encephalitis

The Allahabad High Court directed the concerned officials to submit a report regarding steps taken to prevent the outbreak of Japanese encephalitis in eastern Uttar Pradesh.The court said the report should be submitted by 20th October .The disease has claimed many lives this year.The order was passed by Justice Sunil Ambawani on a contempt application in which it was alleged that despite earlier directions issued by the court, the state government had failed to take adequate steps to curb the outbreak of the disease.The court also ordered that a meeting of experts be convened at New Delhi in the next 15 days to chalk out an effective strategy.
