The Court of Arbitration for Sports has overturned Olympic life bans on 28 Russians accused of doping. CAS in its ruling yesterday said that there was insufficient evidence that the athletes had benefited from a system of state-sponsored doping at the 2014 Winter Games at Sochi, hosted by Russia. The court cleared 28 names including Sochi Cross-Country Gold Medalist Alexander Legkov. <br/><br/>In addition to clearing the 28, CAS also lifted the life bans of another 11 Russians but barred them from competing at Pyeongchang. Meanwhile, the International Olympic Committee reacted to the news by saying that its decision made in December remains in place. <br/><br/>It said in a statement that the result of the CAS decision does not mean that athletes from the group of 28 will be invited to the Games. Expressing concern over CAS decision, the World Anti-Doping Agency said that it supports IOC's intention to analyze these decisions very carefully and consider all options, including an appeal to the Swiss Federal Tribunal.<br/><br/><br/><br/>
