The second Court Martial hearing charges against General Sarath Fonseka resumed its sittings at Navy Headquarters Monday morning. According to the Sri Lankan Army, the counsel for defence made his submissions with regard to the objections raised by them in respect of the jurisdiction of the Court. The Prosecution is to make oral submissions when the case is taken up tomorrow (20) again at 9.30 a.m. The sitting of the Court was adjourned accordingly. The second Court Martial probing into four charges against General Fonseka regarding military procurements under the section, ‘disgraceful conduct’ in the Army Act, comprises Major General Milinda Peiris (President), Major General S.W.L. Daulagala and Major General M. Hathurusinghe. Rear Admiral W.W.J.S. Fernando serves as Judge Advocate for both Courts Martial.
