A Delhi court today awarded death penalty to five members of a family in the 2010 honour killing of a teen couple in north west Delhi. Additional Sessions Judge Ramesh Kumar said, it can be safely concluded that the prosecution has been able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the accused persons had caused the death of the victims with the common intention after giving them merciless beatings and thereafter electrocuting them on various parts of their body.The case pertains to honour killing of Yogesh who belonged to the Scheduled Caste and Asha who belonged to the upper caste. The girl's family was not in favour of the marriage. The five were convicted on Monday
