A Delhi court today allowed the National Investigation Agency, NIA, to question Wasim Ahmed for 14 days in its custody in connection with the Delhi High Court blast case. The NIA had arrested Wasim, a Kashmiri studying Unani medicine in Bangladesh, from the India-Bangladesh border area. 15 people had died and 90 were injured in the blast.
AIR correspondent reports, Wasim is the third person to be arrested by the NIA in the case. Two other residents of Kishtwar, Aamir Abbas and Abid Hussain were arrested earlier from Jammu & Kashmir.
The NIA custody of Amir Abbas Dev has also been extended till October 14 in the case. Special NIA Judge H S Sharma extended Dev's custody by seven days after the investigating agency told the court that it needed more time for his custodial interrogation.
They had allegedly sent e-mails to media houses claiming responsibility for the blast on behalf of banned terror outfit Harkat ul-Jihad al-Islami.
