The government today said country's food production continued to increase despite conversion of huge agricultural land to non-agricultural purposes. This was states by Minister of State for Agriculture Parushottam Pupala in the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour. <br/><br/>Quoting statistics for 2013-14, the minister said despite a marginal decline in agricultural land and similar increase in the area put to non-agricultural uses the food production has gone up except during floods and drought.
