Country's first standard gauge train set to operate on Delhi Metro route

<br/>Country’s first standard gauge rail depot is all set to operate on Inderlok Mundka route of Delhi Metro. 90 coaches can be kept at a time in this workshop cum depot. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation also introduced ultra modern trains for this route yesterday. The route is expected to open soon for commuters. One metro official said that 90 per cent of countries in the world are using standard gauge rail service and only few countries like India and Russia are using the broad gauge systems. So efforts are taking place to promote operation of standard gauge in India gradually.
