In Gujarat, country's first ever campaign against the pneumonia in children has been launched at Gandhidham city of kutch district this afternoon. Under the prevent pneumonia and save the children campaign, free pneumonia vaccines will be given to the urban poor children by the Indian academy of pediatrics kutch branch and child health foundation. AIR Bhuj correspondent reports that in the first phase 6500 slum children will be administered the costly vaccine in Gandhidham while later on rest of the region will be covered.According to the survey every day one thousand children die due to pneumonia in the country. This decease is considered as the most fatal deceases among children of 0 to 5 years of age.
