In Haryana, country’s first Radio frequency identification, RIFD, Technology Based Electronic Toll Plaza and four laned Zirakpur-Parwanoo section of national highway- 5 was inaugurated today at Chandimandir, Punchkula by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Dr.C P Joshi. This new technology will help users to make payment without stopping at toll plazas and will reduce traffic congestion and commuting time. Toll Statements can be made available on line to the road users and they need not to stop for receipt. The four laning of Zirakpur- Parwanoo 27.59 km road stretch traverses through 3 neighbouring ststes of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. The bypass is new gateway to Himachal Pradesh which will save more than an hour for the road users proceeding to Shimla.
