The country will achieve over 80 to 85 per cent literacy by the year 2015. Addressing an international conference in New Delhi , Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said more than 70 million adults will be empowered through education by 2015. The minister also emphasised the need for using information and communication technology to strengthen the adult education programme in the country. Mr Sibal called for a revamp of the education system in the country.
