Country wide Bandh affects rail services

The country-wide bandh today forced the Eastern and South Eastern Railway to cancel and detain a number of trains.<br/>Eastern Railways said both up and down trains of Asansol-Howrah Intercity Express, Howrah-Ranchi Shatabdi Express, Black Diamond Express, Ganadevata Express, Hool Express and Coal Field Express were cancelled. <br/><br/>Only up trains of Kanchengunga Express, Dhanbad-Patna Express, Poorva Express and Toofan Express were cancelled.<br/>They said 32 long-distance trains were stranded at various stations,.2314-Dn Rajdhani Express to Sealdah was stranded at Asansol and the Howrah-bound 2302-Dn Rajdhani Express at Dhanbad. <br/><br/>South Eastern Railways officials said, Howrah-Puri Dhauli Express, Howrah- Purulia Jan Shatabdi Express, Tata-Howrah Steel Express and Howrah-Secundrabad Falaknama Express were cancelled. <br/>Trains detained at various SER stations include Mumbai-Howrah Mail at Uluberia, Yeshwantpur-Howrah Express at Panskura and Puri-Howrah Sri Jagannath Express at Kharagpur.<br/><br/>
