Country produces 24.5 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser annually

Chemical Fertliser Minister Ananth Kumar today said country is producing 24.5 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser annually. Speaking to media in New Delhi, Mr Kumar said neem coated urea has helped reduce urea consumption by 10 per cent. <br/><br/>He said revival of Baroni, Sindhri, Gorakhpur, Ramagundam and Talcher fertiliser plants will help raise production by 7.5 million metric tonnes. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan added that the foundation stone for three fertiliser plants will be laid this fiscal. <br/><br/>He said Gorakhpur, Baroni, Talcher and Sindhri plants will see investment of 30,000 crore rupees.
