President Ram Nath Kovind has said that the country needs to cultivate a scientific culture for its modernization and to compete on a scientific scale with the entire modern world. <br/><br/>Speaking at the Valedictory Session of the centenary celebrations of the Bose Institute in Kolkata, the President said that the Institute occupies a unique and exalted position in the landscape of Indian science as it was one of the earliest scientific institutes to be established in the country. <br/><br/>Recalling that Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose as an innovator and scientist of world-class distinction who laid the foundation for revolutionary technologies like modern wireless communication, Mr. Kovind said that Acharya Bose demonstrated wireless transmission of microwaves as far back as in 1895. <br/><br/>The President said that Bengal was one of India's earliest industrial and manufacturing economies. With that legacy, and with its educational institutions, it should have led the IT revolution in our country he said.
