Country needs Sports Injury Centres to cater to needs of sports persons: JP Nadda

Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda on Saturday said the country needs Sports Injury Centres to cater to needs of sports persons for diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitative interventions. Speaking at the Foundation Day celebration of Safdarjung Sports Injury Centre, SIC in New Delhi, Mr Nadda said the Ministry shall explore innovative models for making these Centres feasible. He applauded the work being done by the SIC in surgery and rehabilitation of sports injury for many persons across the country. The Health Minister stated that it was a matter of pride that the SIC has been recognised as a referral centre for the sports persons in training for the Rio Olympics. He inaugurated the Vacusport machine, a high performance rehab equipment for accelerated tissue treatment post surgery on the occasion.
