<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre has said, the country is now proud of having one of the best weather prediction systems in the world, generating real-time forecasts and warnings. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh said, the India Meteorological Department, IMD issues weather warnings in all spatial scales including at the levels of blocks, districts and homogenous regions. He said, the IMD is continuously working on improving operational forecasting models for various weather extreme events.</span><br />
