The Congress has claimed that the country witnessed a manifold growth in various sectors since 2004. Addressing the media in New Delhi today senior Party leader and Union Minister P. Chidambaram expressed hope that country's economic growth will be around six percent in 2014-15. Mr. Chidambaram criticised Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh for stalling the Goods and Services Tax. He said, steel production rose from 407 lakh tonnes in 2004 to 822 lakh tonnes in 2014.Chidambaram said 26 lakh students benefitted from education loans so far.
