Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said the country has to face temporary pain for long term gain. <br/><br/>He said the global economy has slowed down and even China is witnessing a slack in its economy, but in the midst of this, India remains a bright spot. Mr. Naidu was speaking at a book release function in New Delhi.<br/><br/>He said, there are people who are debating, using their skills, forgetting what they have done, what has to be done and what needs to be done. The Vice-President added that there has to be a broader consensus on foreign and economic policies.<br/><br/>His comments came in the backdrop of senior BJP leader and former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha's criticism of government on the current state of economy.
