The country has sufficient food grain stocks for the next one year and there is no need for panic. In an exclusive interview to AIR, Consumers Affairs, Food and Public Distribution minister, Prof. K V Thomas, said that the government is taking all measures to check food prices in the country.

However, the Minister expressed concern about the prices of pulses, oil seeds and sugar, as they are likely to be affected due to the tardy rain during the current monsoon season.
