The government informed the Lok Sabha today that the country has adequate stocks of wheat to meet any unforeseen shortage in the markets. Replying to a question, Minister of State for Agriculture S.S. Ahluwalia said the stock position of wheat in the Central Pool as on the 1st of this month was almost 323 lakh tonnes against the buffer norms of 276 lakh tonnes.
